About the Role

As a minister, your responsibilities include teaching and preaching the Word of God to the congregation. You must provide spiritual guidance and counselling to church members. Organizing and leading Bible study groups and other spiritual growth programs is also part of your duties.

As a teacher, you may be involved in disciplining new believers in the faith and guiding them to baptism and beyond. You will conduct outreach programs to share the gospel with non-believers. Additionally, you will lead prayer sessions and intercede on behalf of the church, its leaders, and members.

Fasting and engaging in other spiritual disciplines are essential to strengthen your relationship with God. You will also provide support and encouragement to the church leadership team. Participating in church events and activities to promote unity and fellowship among members is necessary.

You will be involved in training and retreats to build faith, knowledge, and understanding. Ensuring that the department's activities align with the overall mission and values of the church is crucial to your role as a minister.

Requirements

Strong Prayer Life: They should have a consistent prayer life and be able to teach others how to pray (James 5:16).

  1. Knowledge of the Bible: They should have a deep knowledge of the Bible and be able to teach others the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

  2. Humility and teachability: They should be humble and willing to learn from others (Philippians 2:3-4).

  3.  Patience: They should be patient with others and able to teach at a pace that is appropriate for their students (Ephesians 4:2).

  4. Good communication skills: They should be able to communicate effectively and clearly to their students (Colossians 4:6).

  5. Love for People: They should have a genuine love for people and a desire to see them grow in their faith (John 13:34-35).

  6. Discernment: They should have the ability to discern spiritual needs and know how to pray for them (1 Corinthians 12:10).

  7.  Dependence on the Holy Spirit: They should be led by the Holy Spirit in their teaching and prayer (Romans 8:26).

  8. Encouraging: They should be able to encourage and motivate their students to continue in their faith (Hebrews 10:24-25).

  9. Faithfulness: They should be faithful in their teaching and prayer, and able to persevere in difficult situations (2 Timothy 4:2).
